We need to have a thorough discussion in this country about legal limits to hate speech that may incite violence. Talkin' 'bout you, Cardi B. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JjcjKq6qZqk&feature=youtu.be
IFC Films is releasing Claude Lanzmann's documentary, SHOAH (1985) on digital platforms starting March 2nd. This will be the first time the film can be seen online. Upon its original release it was lauded by critics as astonishing, indispensable filmmaking. With the rise in anti-semitism and authoritarian regimes around the world today, SHOAH presents both a historical record and a tool for reflection so that we never forget but remain forever vigilant. https://youtu.be/S7z8lOvfskk

Our friend and fellow film lover Kevin Keelan posts an insightful review of the astonishing and brutally honest OF FATHERS AND SONS, available to view on Kanopy, the free streaming service offered by Santa Cruz and many other public library systems.
Excellent debate on the proposition Anti-Zionism is Anti-Semitism. If only we could have such civil discussion on every contentious disagreement! https://youtu.be/K1VTt_THL4A
Wow, what a movie. I just watched TO TAKE A WIFE for the first time. What an incredible performance by Ronit Elkabetz in this emotional drama of a wife and mother on the verge of a nervous breakdown. Amazing. Available on ChaiFlicks.
Our friend Neil Friedman at ChaiFlicks,"The Jewish Netflix", is offering a Hanukah special--lifetime membership for just $18 a year. Such a deal! https://www.chaiflicks.com/
Excessive Hasidic influence on politics in Israel, always a hot topic, ripe for examination at the SCJFF.
