IT'S WEDDING SEASON AT SANTA CRUZ BIKE TOURS A few weeks ago, we did back-to-back bachelorette tours, and our afternoon group is featured here at Wilder Ranch State Park. We want to thank Jackie for booking the tour for her sister and bride to be, Jayne. Congratulations, and we look forward to seeing you again!

BRING YOUR PARTY TO SCBT FOR SOME FUN IN THE SUN! William brought along sixteen of his best friends to help celebrate his wife's (Allison) birthday with a Coastal Winery Tour. It was a great day out, and they were one of our most fun groups yet. We look forward to seeing any or all of them down the road. Thank you William and Allison!

WELCOME BACK FOR ANOTHER SUMMER OF FUN WITH SANTA CRUZ BIKE TOURS! We've had some great tours in the last month at SCBT, and we hope to see old friends as well as new ones as we move into our seventh season. Check out this video from our amigo Matthew, who along with his bro from DLI, Michael, came out on a brewery tour with us a few weeks back:... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RZNlyiWavBk

COME SEE THE SPECTACULAR SANTA CRUZ COAST WITH US! Thanks go out to Joe and Risha from Florida who saw it with us last week. They had a great time visiting places like Long Marine Lab and Wilder Ranch where we observed scores of sea lions and harbor seals laying out on the rocks and saw a couple of totally cool pelican fly-overs.

BIKE & HIKE ADVENTURE NEW FOR 2013 We have partnered with Santa Cruz Hiking Tours to create new tours that offer adventure and sightseeing like never before. Maple Falls in the Forest of Nisene Marks is the destination for this journey. This tour is fully supported and equipped. You'll enter the beautiful, second-growth forest on mountain bike via scenic trails suited to your skill level. There is also a pump track at the trail head to sharpen your MB skills before or after e...ntering the forest. You will then hike a bit over two miles to the over 30 foot high Maple Falls. The final half-mile or so features some light climbing and several creek crossings that most anyone can do and have much fun doing. After lunch (not included in price) at the falls, you'll get to experience and enjoy the trails in the other direction as you make your way back. Please go to santacruzbiketours.com or call (831) 722-BIKE (2453) for pricing and reservations.

Our Santa Cruz Coastal Cruise along with coastal beer and wine tours can always feature a stop at Kelly's Bakery on the west side of town. Great lunches and pastries that'll knock your eyes out.

Props to Kelly and Maurice from New Zealand who last Tuesday would have earned the SC Bike Tours award for bravery - if it existed. We did a "Best of the Redwoods" tour, an advanced ride, on an overcast morning with showers forecast for the PM. There was only occasional drizzle by the Epicenter at Nisene Marks. But as we climbed, the drizzle turned to showers which turned to rain, and then more rain. We reached the top of the major incline, and though it was coming down, our... Kiwis opted to keep going to Sand Point Overlook. But as the deluge increased and we passed rangers removing an overhanging limb, we stopped, ate, and turned back. By the time we got back to the parking lot, things were completely dry, so folks had to wonder how the three of us got so wet and muddy. Fun was had by all, though my chilled left thumb took a little while to start working again.

ANOTHER POSTCARD SHOT FROM THE SANTA CRUZ COAST! Paul and Christine joined us last Saturday for a Coastal Cruise. Here we are looking out over the one natural bridge remaining at Natural Bridges State Beach (another bridge that connected the two sections shown here fell in 1980). In the background, you can see the UCSC Long Marine Lab, where we went next to check out whale skeletons and more. Thanks to our new friends, and let us know when you want to explore the coast with us. (831) 722-2453.

WE ROLL THROUGH THE REDWOODS, & SOMETIMES WE JUMP! We love to show our guests the possibilities when it comes to mountain biking (we are also a bunch of show offs). Even if our guests don't get air like we do, just rolling up and over jumps like this one is fun for everyone. If you are a beginner, we'd love to introduce you to our sport. We give simple instruction, take you on the right trails and provide lots of encouragement. If you are an intermediate or advanced rider, then please jump along with us!

AN EGRET POSES FOR US ON A RECENT COASTAL CRUISE! Most wildlife isn't quite as accommodating as our new friend here, but we generally see all manner of coastal birds along with sea lions, dolphins, otters and the occasional whale. We offer tours year-round, weather permitting.

CHECK OUT MAPLE FALLS ON OUR BIKE & HIKE TOUR Mishelle gave her mom, Janice, a Bike & Hike Tour for Mother's Day, and here they are at our destination, beautiful Maple Falls. The hike is mostly easy with a few spots where small climbs and creek crossings must be made, but it is well worth the effort as you can see. Thanks Mishelle.
