We need help putting up flags and taking them down on Veterans Day (Wednesday, November 11). We meet at the IGA parking lot at 7am to put them up and 4pm to take them down. Please let us know if you can help. Thank you.

It is with a very heavy heart that I share this news from the Zuehlke family. "On a full blue moon, November 1, 2020, the Zuehlke family lost Frederick Zuehlke @ 91 yrs old. He was fighting lung cancer. In his last 40 years of life, he loved the students and parents who came to dance classes @Joan’s Studio of Dance, his wife’s second career of their life. From the 1960’s to mid 90’s Fred and Joan were the owners of Tinkers To Teens , toys & Schwinn bicycles in Susanvil...le. Fred and Joan live in their restored historical Spaulding home in uptown Susanville. Fred and Joan celebrated their 70th wedding anniversary in August 2020. Joan & sons Doug and Jon would like to thank the Lassen community as they stopped by to see Fred in his final months of his life, and for there love & support." Fred was a long-time member of the Rotary Club of Susanville, joining the club on July 15, 1965. Fred was a pillar of our club and our community. He will be terribly missed. Our love, thoughts, and prayers are with the Zuehlke family.

Join us tomorrow, Saturday, September 12 from 9am-11am for a little community service project at Peter Lassen's Grave. Bring a rake, gloves, etc. and join us for some community fun.

We are so fortunate to live in such an amazing community. I am in awe of the kindness, generosity, and selflessness that this community shows in even the most challenging times. As the Sheep Fire continues to threaten our beloved community, we will not be having a meeting this week. In lieu of a weekly meeting, we will be having a community service project on Saturday, September 5 from 9am-11am. More details will be available soon.
