Last weekend we hosted 95 year old WW2 vet Ed Larson out in Hollister. Ed instructed in T-6s like ours in California, trained in the B-24, then deployed to Burma and flew transports including the C-46 and others. Ed is also an author with a number of writing credits and is currently working on another book involving the P-51 Mustang. He had recently flown in a P-51 in Southern California but was looking to get up close with one again to see, feel and touch it as he worked on his book. He reached out to us and we were more than happy to oblige and welcome him out to the hangar to visit with us, the T-6, and the Mustang. We’re looking forward to his book, he says it’s almost done!

Great Photo by Kelly Coulter of 79C after a fun evening flight
CWI lost one of its best and key influential members this past Thursday in a tragic accident. Doug Jackson has held many titles with our organization since 1983 including T-6/P-51 Pilot, President, Maintenance officer and general go to guy about pretty much everything. Not only was he a father, grandfather, husband and friend, Doug watched over everyone and showed us all how to be better people. This aviation community will never be the same with out this great man who many of us called Dad. Blue Sky's doug, we love you forever.

A few StrawBoss pics from the 80's.
Don't forget about the Hollister Airshow CA this weekend. The P-51 will be flying during the show with at least 4 other P-51's! We hope to see you all there!
