(1 Corinthians 13:1,3) 1 Corinthians 13:3-4 NLT We must always test our motives for everything we do. Do we sacrifice our lives and possessions out of loving obedience to the Lord, or in doing so are we fulfilling a selfish need in our own lives? Do we address our conduct with an attitude of godly service, or are we motivated by personal ambition and conceit? If our actions do not reflect the love of God, they will have no power and will certainly not last ( John 13:34, 35; 15:414; 1 Corinthians 3:1115 ). See more

The Verses of the Day: Thursday, September 15, 2020 " " ( :-...) "Dear friends, you always followed my instructions when I was with you. And now that I am away, it is even more important. Work hard to show the results of your salvation, obeying God with deep reverence and fear. For God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases Him." (Philippians 2:12-13) When Paul tells us to work out our salvation with fear and trembling, he means that we are to give careful attention to our actions and behavior, making sure that we represent the One who saved us with honor and humility.

The Verses of the Day: Monday, September 14, 2020 " " ( :-) "Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take." (Proverbs 3:5-6)... If you want your life to be the very best it can be, you must put your full faith in God rejecting your own limited perspective and honoring Him in every area of your life. This is the heart of godly living you submit to the Lord’s direction, knowing that He has the answer to your every need and is faithful to provide it ( Philippians 4:19 ).

The Verses of the Day: Sunday, September 13, 2020 " " ( :) "Surely Your goodness and unfailing love will pursue me all the days of my life, and I will live in the house of the LORD forever." (Psalm 23:6)... We cannot always see goodness and mercy ahead of us, but when we look back, we can see all the ways God has helped us. That helps us to move forward, knowing that wherever the Lord leads us, our ultimate destination is an eternal dwelling place of joy.

The Verses of the Day: Saturday, September 12, 2020 " " ( :) "So whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God." (1 Corinthians 10:31)... There could hardly be a better standard of behavior than this. Before you commit to any action, ask yourself, Can I do this to the glory of God? Would this action represent Him in a manner worthy of His name?

The Verses of the Day:Friday, September 11, 2020 " " ( :) "He heals the brokenhearted and bandages their wounds." (Psalm 147:3)... Isaiah echoes this sentiment, The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me... to heal the brokenhearted ( 61:1 ). Jesus quoted Isaiah as a public declaration of His earthly ministry ( Luke 4:18 ). He does not come into our lives to fix what is already right; rather, He heals us from our brokenness and forgives our sin. Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners ( Mark 2:17 ).

The Verses of the Day: Wednesday, September 9, 2020 " " ( :-) Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Point out anything in me that offends You, and lead me along the path of everlasting life." (Psalm ...139:23-24) When we cannot understand ourselves or comprehend our feelings, God invites us to take our internal struggles to Him and ask Him for insight. He understands what we do not and knows what to do when we don’t.

The Verses of the Day: Tuesday, September 8, 2020 " " ( :) "The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still. (Exodus 14:14)... In the midst of this terrible situation, the Israelites complained. Yet Moses stayed faithful, and God saved His people by parting the Red Sea and wiping out Pharaoh’s forces. If we, like the Israelites, are fearful whenever we face obstacles, then we haven’t yet learned the key to surviving the tough times. Like Moses, we must keep silent, fully aware that we have nothing to worry about because almighty God is with us to help us, to provide for us, and to protect us ( Deuteronomy 31:8; Joshua 1:9 ). There is no trouble, heartache, loss, or suffering that His loving hand cannot bring us through or deliver us from perfectly.

The Verses of the Day: Monday, September 7, 2020 " " ( :-) Then Jesus said, "Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you.... Let me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light." (Matthew 11:28-30) All of us need rest, and Jesus promises to give it to us when we find our rest in Him. He is our Burden-Bearer. When we surrender the circumstances of our lives to Him, He lifts us up and infuses our hearts with fresh hope and wisdom. Some situations are just too difficult for us to handle, but nothing is too great for Him. He promises to refresh our weary souls when we cry out to Him.
