The Revelation pictures the opposite of concealment actually, the reversal of concealment. Revealing what another party might wish to hide goes to the heart of the matter. The Revelation pictures the opposite of concealment actually, the reversal of concealment. Satan is well aware that the weakest soul who abides in Christ is more than a match for the hosts of darkness, and that, should he reveal himself openly, he would be met and resisted.Satan is well aware that the weakest soul who abides in Christ is more than a match for the hosts of darkness, and that, should he reveal himself openly, he would be met and resisted.

Satan has a proud imagination: You have said, ‘I am a god; I sit in the seat of the gods, in the heart of the seas,’ yet you are but a mortal, and no god (Ezek. 28:2). The manner of his death will prove he is no god. Unlike Christ, Satan will perish in the heart of a sea of fire (Rev. 20:10), never to haunt the universe again.

The Sabbath was committed to Adam, the father and representative of the whole human family. Thus the institution was wholly commemorative, and given to all mankind. There was nothing in it shadowy or of restricted application to any people. Patriarchs and Prophets, p. 48

Christ gave His disciples to understand that the washing of their feet did not cleanse away their sin, but that the cleansing of their heart was tested in this humble service. If the heart was cleansed, this act was all that was essential to reveal the fact.

The report I'd filed on the abusive spiritual leader had climbed to the top, prompting a call from the man's boss. "He denies everything," boss-man said. "I'm... not surprised. He's a pathological liar," I said. "How do you know he hasn't repented?" he said. I looked at the phone, unplugging my ears. Did he just say that? He hinted in one breath the man had done nothing (I knew it was true; he'd done it to ME), and in the next that he'd repented. Deep breath. Clear throat. "The reason I know he hasn't repented is he hasn't confessed," I said, trying not to sound condescending. I knew that no repentant person denies their crimes. Coverups and confession don't mix. Neither does denial and due diligence. Not too long ago students of prophecy were told to lighten up on interpretations that targeted the papacy. The interpretations seemed so stretched given its presently innocuous appearance. One could almost hear: "They've denied everything; How do you know they haven't repented?" Prophecy's ongoing relevance speaks. And prophecy mentions the period of papal persecution during the Dark Ages, during which the little horn wreaked its evil layers of havoc, a full SEVEN times.* Daniel first heard it during his Chapter Seven vision when the angel said the saints would be given over to the little horn "time, times, and half a time." Daniel heard it again, and then John the Revelator heard it five times. Your mom told you to apologize hundreds of times as you were growing up. Repetition indicates importance. Prophecy mentions the crimes of the little horn power seven times. I think we can assume that those crimes matter to a God of love and justice. Now, if the little horn would just apologize like mama said. But don't hold your breath. #powerbites *I can post details if anyone is interested.

Adam's repentance, evidenced by his sorrow for his transgression and his hope of salvation through Christ, shown by his works in the sacrifices offered, were a disappointment to Satan. He hoped forever to gain Adam to unite with him in murmuring against God and in rebelling against His authority. Cain and Abel were representatives of the two great classes. Abel, as priest, in solemn faith offered his sacrifice. Cain was willing to offer the fruit of his ground, but refused to connect with his offering the blood of beasts. His heart refused to show his repentance for sin, and his faith in a Saviour, by offering the blood of beasts. He refused to acknowledge his need of a Redeemer. This, to his proud heart, was dependence and humiliation. Conflict, 22
