This is important! You can HELP!

Reggae Street 24.04.2022

Greetings and Blessings Everyone! After all the attempts at negotiations and reasoning with the Babylonians at the City and County of Sacramento, we still ended... up having to pay their extortion money in order to save our community house at the Reggae Street compound. Even though the officials understood and agreed with our assessment of the situation, but their greed, consensus attitudes, and lack of integrity would not allow them to do the right thing. Caesar still took more than their due, just because they could. But we give thanks that things were such that we were able to come up with their extortion money, which surprised them. Olufunmi has been around longer than any of these Babylonian officials have been in their positions, and will be around when they're gone! InI work continues! Rastafari Liveth Itenually! However this put us in the situation where we will be struggling financially for awhile to raise the funds to pay off some debts incurred, and to finish renovations and upgrades to the community house and tabernacle. So we've setup Go Fundme and PayPal accounts for donations to the cause, as well as we will be doing some fundraising events. Links and info will be presented on all of our Facebook sites as well as our website home at www.olufunmi.org, In spite of the Babylon, things at the Reggae Street compound continued. New doors and windows installed on the Community House, and the Urban Farming and Food Distribution Program (UFFDP) gardens were better than ever. Through the UFFDP we offer organic, and bio-dynamic gardening and farming training. We also offer compost, mulch, and chicken manure. More detail on this and the UFFDP can be had on it's Facebook site. All in all it has been an eventful and upful year so far! To InI community and supporters; More is coming! Blessed Love

I received this email and believe as many citizens as possible need to apply so we have a say in how California is redistricted: I'm reaching out to share some important news: the State Auditor's office has opened the application for Californians to apply to serve on the California Citizens Redistricting Commission. California is beginning the once-in-a-decade redistricting process, and we need your help to ensure the diversity of our state is reflected! California Common Ca...use was the lead partner in the creation of the California Citizens Redistricting Commission and since then, has monitored, pushed, and worked in collaboration with the State to ensure the commission lives up to the will of the voters who put it in place. This is the second redistricting cycle with the commission in California, and we're looking for qualified candidates who are committed to a fair redistricting process to apply. We want the commission to reflect the diversity of our state, and we need your help to make sure this redistricting cycle is a success. Here's how you can help: (1) Apply to serve on the commission. The application takes only 5 minutes and can be accessed at ShapeCaliforniasFuture.auditor.ca.gov. As a commissioner, you will hold public meetings, analyze data, and draw district lines. You don't have to be a maps expert to apply. The qualifications for commissioners are analytical skills, impartiality, and appreciation for California's diversity. As long as you have been registered with your current political party for five years, voted in the last 2 of 3 statewide elections, and don't have a conflict of interest, you are eligible to serve on the commission! The deadline to apply to the commission is August 9, 2019. (2) Attend a webinar on how to apply. We have 6 different webinars scheduled between now and the deadline to answer all of your questions about what it takes to be a commissioner. We'll even have a current commissioner join to explain how everything works. Check the webinar schedule and RSVP here. >> (3) Help spread the word! Please share this email with your networks and anyone you think would be a good fit for the commission. We want to spread the news of applications being open as far as possible. But also, if you know one or two people that you think would be good Commissioners, give them a nudge to apply. We encourage you to submit an application before the deadline on August 9, 2019. Let us know if you have any questions, or visit the state website for more information or to apply at ShapeCaliforniasFuture.auditor.ca.gov. Together, we can make sure the California Citizens Redistricting Commission lives up the standards of diversity and inclusivity that we the voters mandated over a decade ago. Many thanks, Rey López-Calderón, Executive Director See more

Alder Grove and Marina Vista, the largest public housing complexes west of the Mississippi, are in the city's crosshairs. The city's West Broadway Specific Plan... will displace residents and limit the supply of public housing, worsening the housing crisis while benefiting developers, investors, the wealthy who can afford market rents, and landlords. But why design a city for the people who already have so much? Now's your chance to make yourselves heard! Read our take on the city's "gentle" gentrification plan at the link below. Then, print and fill out the attached documents, and email them to [email protected]. If you can't print the form and submit it yourself, message us with your comments/objections and we'll submit them for you. Do we want a revitalized public housing for all? YES! Do we want amenities for the people who live there? YES! Do we want better pedestrian and transit access? YES! Do we want social and cooperative housing? Hell YES! What we don't want is another giveaway to Sacramento's rich and famous, to displace the people who depend on public housing for their lives, and to worsen the humanitarian crisis taking place on our streets every night. Protect tenants, support community, and build something together!!! https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/1156743756827095041.html
