The Farmworker Resource Program in partnership with the U.S. Dept. of Labor Wage and Hour Division, is conducting a Families First Coronavirus Response Act training for Ventura agriculture employers. Paying homage to the recovery, regrowth and regeneration from the devastating efforts of the 2017-2018 Thomas Fire, Ventura County Agricultural Commissioner’s staff presented our exhibit for the 2018 Ventura County Fair. Thank you to Korinne Bell, Chief Deputy Agricultural Commissioner, Lauren Balthazor, Senior Agricultural Inspector/Biologist, Linda Bellamy, Insect Detection Specialist, David Neville, Agricultural Inspector/Biologist, and Carlo Romero,Insect Detection Specialist, for arraigning the booth. An extremely special thank you goes out to Riley Walker, Agricultural Inspector/Biologist, and Robin Duffield, Insect Detection Specialist, for painting the beautiful mural in the backdrop.

Introducing the Yellow Submarine! A homage to the history of agriculture in our County and the focal point of our 2017 Ventura County Fairgrounds booth Roots in Tradition since 1886. Thanks to our staff Henry Gonzales, Agricultural Commissioner; Korinne Bell, Chief Deputy Agricultural Commissioner; Lauren Balthazor, Senior Agricultural Inspector/Biologist; David Neville, Agricultural Inspector/Biologist and Linda Bellamy, Insect Detection Specialist; who setup our exhibit which won the blue ribbon in our division and received a plaque for the Best Agriculture Theme Exhibit! Our 1953 Chevy water-tank truck (Yellow Submarine) was once used by the County Agriculture Department to treat roadside invasive plants (weeds).
