Please take the time to ready this! Very important! Especially if you live in Crescent City, CA. My identity was recently stolen! Last Tuesday Feb 18th I re...ceived a message from my cell phone provider that my pin had been changed. Which I did not change. I immediately contacted my provider and after having to go through the steps to prove who I was I was able to change the pin. That confirmation of pin change came in within 30 minutes of the first notification. The next day I found out I no longer had cell phone service as my number was ported out to another company. It took 2 full days, the help of my phone company and a trip to Medford Or to get my phone number back. During that time I did not have access to my email, banking, or any account online as they now had access to my phone number to receive the codes and verification of identity. They were in my bank, in my email, in my business phone account, they were everywhere and I could not stop it. Fortunately I did not loose any money as I caught it in time. But there are others in town who are not so fortunate. I have since signed up for lifelock to protect my identity and would recommend everyone in town do something similar. This is a wide spread problem and still this morning I am finding accounts I forgot I had that they still have access to. I am still receiving telephone calls for people I do not know. I never thought I would have this happen to me as I really do not have much worth taking. But apparently I was wrong. Please be careful! Also I have not signed up for a new facebook page!
