This past Saturday humbled me and brought me to tears. I thought I was arriving at a home for an inspection but I got so much more from it when I got to connect with this beautiful family.... I am representing the buyer in this transaction not the sellers but when I arrived and the sellers were there we connected immediately. This family lost their Mom, they know life has to move forward so they are there, going through the motions to sell and start their next chapter... as they are packing up moms things the daughter smelt each article of clothing hoping for one last scent of mom before sending her things to be donated. It was the sweetest thing to watch, (My eyes filled with tears in the corner praying nobody would talk to me for a minute until I could pull myself together) the family shared stories with me about growing up in this home for over 25 years, they told me about how this door was once a blank wall in a dark living room, first they added a window, then they added these French doors. These walls were once brown paneling. The husband shared with me that 25+ years ago when they were looking for a new home, they pulled up to this house and his wife said, This is the one, this is our forever home. The husband said, I didn’t see the potential, I just saw a lot of work but we worked and worked on it year after year and it was exactly what she wanted, her forever home! Loosing someone you love is so hard but it’s so special to have a house full of people that love this lady so much and had so many amazing memories of her to share, I only wish I had gotten the chance to meet her. I pray this family finds peace in their next chapter of life and I know the new owners will have a long life full of new memories in this home! I can’t help but to feel so fortunate to have been there at the same time as this family and for the ability to get to connect with them and hear all their special stories. I always say, this is the best part of my job because I love every part of it but this truly felt like the best part of my job! Happy December 1st!!!! I can’t believe we are at the END of 2020!!!..... AM I RIGHT?!? ... I think it’s fair to say a lot has been given up this year, a lot of adjustments have been made.
