Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a concern to all of us. Synergy Physical Therapy is taking tangible steps to help prevent the spread of disease and protect our patients and staff. Please visit our website at www.ptsynergy.com and click on the COVID-19 Frequently Asked Questions for Patients.... We have always practiced good cleaning and disinfecting protocols and have increased the frequency and depth of those efforts during this time. Our staff and patients have also been educated on steps to keep themselves and others healthy: REGULARLY wash your hands and wrists with soap and water for at least 20 seconds Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue or the inside of your elbow, turn away from others, then excuse yourself to clean up If you are sick, please stay home Keep your hands away from your face, mouth and eyes We will continue to take measures to protect our patients and staff and are ready to serve you!

Appreciate @backstagesocal for increasing awareness of Eating Disorders in Dancers Eating disorders are one of the biggest risks faced by dancers, particularly ...women. The focus on size, shape and weight can put extreme pressures on dancers. The aesthetic standards of the dance world favor lean physiques from body revealing costumes and clothing to the demands of jumping, leaping, and partnering. Every day in the studio, a dancer is bombarded by direct comparisons with fellow performers in a competitive environment with occasional added subtle, or not so subtle comments (you’d jump better if you were 5 pounds lighter). Some of these environments can lead young people into destructive eating habits which may have long-term and even fatal consequences This information is not just for dancers- it is for anyone who is concerned about body image or relationships with food. Anyone could include instructors, family members and fellow performers. @activekidmd has partnered with dancers to address disordered eating and build a supportive treatment team that understands the unique challenges. Click on https://activekidmd.com/dealing-with-eating-disorders-amon/ or https://backstagesocal.com/athlete-eating-disorder-how-to-/ If you, your child, a student, or a fellow dancer have concerns- do not be afraid to reach out for help! #dance #food #mentalhealth #performingarts #nutrition #
