THIS IS A CALL TO ACTION! We are Bay Area Hospitality for Black Lives (BAHBL), a coalition that calls for the hospitality industry to actively practice anti-racism. BAHBL is committed to addressing and combating the racial disparities that are perpetuated daily in our country, our community, and our workplaces. BAHBL is a team of like-minded hospitality workers who can no longer remain silent when observing the inequities in our places of work, and the barriers people of col...or face while trying to access leadership and higher paying roles within our industry. The hospitality industry largely employs women, immigrants, and people of color, this is our fight. BAHBL believes that as the industry emerges from the Covid-19 pandemic, the time to change is now. This a movement, not a moment. We are writing to ask for your support and solidarity in active change towards anti-racist practices in the hospitality industry. Join BAHBL in solidarity at 1pm on Tuesday, June 30th at the William McKinley statue (277 Baker St.) in the Panhandle for a socially distanced gathering. We will begin with a short opening program that highlights the changes we believe are necessary in our industry and will continue with a march through the Western Addition neighborhood in support of the Black Lives Matter movement. Please join our fight by: - Joining us on Tuesday - Sharing our attached flyer widely on your social media platforms and to your networks - Forwarding our invitation to your employees - past and present Now is the time to come together and use our voices and collective passion to fight for what is right. We are grateful for your participation. In Solidarity, Michelle Vilardi/Co-Founder BAHBL - Bay Area Hospitality For Black Lives Engage with us!
