Another day, another class in the back yard! Keeping the kids engaged is a challenge and I am fortunate to have my own kiddos with me to help gauge what is working and what is not. The Freeze Game song was a big hit along with jumping our swizzles just being able to SAY HELLO! Stay safe and stay active friends

Such a nice day outside for Workout Wednesday. I love that Naomi can be a part of this and help me create content. We had a blast and I can't wait to do it again on Friday!

So glad my kiddos could help me out with my first Zoom class. All of my current skaters are Snowplow through Pre Freeskate so I'm constantly trying to think of creative ways to keep them moving in fun and meaningful ways. Tomorrow we're taking class outside...can't wait!

Hi everyone! It’s taken me a few days to wrap my head around how I want to navigate these upcoming weeks and I feel like I’m just winging it to be honest, but here I go anyway In my own kids, I definitely see a need to stay active. I’ve also found that trying to do school, or tumbling, or skating activities at home is definitely not the same because we’re doing it at home, without their friends, without the ice, without the voice instructor singing along, and my daughter is ...still feeling the void. So, I’ve decided my focus will be to keep you all connected to our sport in the most fun, creative way I can without just sending off-ice exercises. Don’t get me wrong, those are really important too!! So, so, so very important! I just think that right now it’s important for us to not just try and recreate their norm at home because let’s be honest, NONE OF THIS IS NORMAL!! Let’s start with a history lesson! Yaaay??? I don’t know how many young skaters in this generation actually know where the figure in figure skating comes from so, check out the link in my bio to watch a short video that features the AMAZING Scott Hamilton and gives a brief history on how our sport got its name. After checking out the video, ask your skater to draw some of their own creative figures or better yethave them draw them outside using sidewalk chalk and skate them in their shoes or roller blades or roller skates if you have them! If you post videos or pictures, please tag me @toepicksandtoeloops and #toepicksandtoeloops. I would love to see what you and your skaters come up with! Again, my hope is to stay connected to what we love in new ways and hopefully this does just that! I certainly do miss all of you and can’t wait to get back on the ice but our safety and heath is definitely a priority right now. As I go more and more stir crazy who knows, maybe I’ll come up with some even better ideas! Hang in there everybodywe’re all in this together! Also, I am absolutely taking requests on anything you guys would like me to share!
