Pet Pantry

Hi Everyone, I have a question for you all. I'm curious to hear what you all think. FYI, This has nothing to do with pets. I was told today by customers coming into my store that the school district in LB and Signal Hill are telling the students that they have to write welcome letters to the Immigrant families that have been brought into the LB Convention Center to live. They are being told this is a class assignment and it seems to be a concern for some of these children's... parties. Here's why: In Long Beach alone we have hundreds and hundreds of homeless people with children and pets living in the river banks and streets due to disabilities, covid, jobs lost and a huge housing shortage. What is LB doing for these families? Have school children been given assignments to write to these people living in the streets and tent camps? What is LB doing for these families? NOT enough is what LB is doing to help our homeless community that is continues to grow by the day. What are your thoughts? Should LB and our Mayor start fighting to help our homeless pandemic or continue to promote funding & use our tax funds to bring in families from other areas & supply them with daily shelter, food, clothing, medical all while he is doing absolutely NOTHING to help or care for the homeless community we already have here. Hello Everyone, We wanted to share with you all a concern that has been brought to our attention from several customers that two different Veterinarys in the community are not allowing the pet owners to accompany their pet into the Veterinarian office with their pet even with masks and gloves. Let me tell you these Vets are heartless!... Here's just one example: On 4/20/21 My customer needed to put her cat down due to severe illness. When she got there, she wasn't allowed in the facility.. The Veterinarian's office told her to get back in the car and drive up to the cones and hand the cat to the staff member. They would call her when the pet was done. DONE!!! WHAT??? So now we are not aloud to be with our pets (aka family) when they have to say goodbye? This is not acceptable! Who in their right mind thinks this is OK? Handing over your pet to strangers to say goodbye instead of the pets parents. Both customers said the Veterinarian's refuse to allow the human to enter the office or be with their pet due to Covid. Another example: At another Veterinarian's office, my customer went in for routine check up and her dog seemed to be feeling a little sick and wanted to make sure her dog was OK. She drove up to the cones, handed the pet to the staff member and she never saw her dog again. They put the dog down and didn't even call or reach out to her before the Vet made that decision. Vet claiming the dog was ill. Why the hell would they not talk to her first?? This is not anyone's decision but the pet owners. These Vets think their All Mighty God's! Please DO NOT ALLOW your pet to go into any Veterinarian's office alone. Always be present. If they refuse, go to another Vet. Taking a chance of leaving your pets in hands of strangers is NOT ok! The two Vets are: 1st Vet is on corner of Redondo & PCH. 2nd Vet is on South & Palo Verde. Lets keep our family pets safe!! If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to the store.
