The happiness that we create for ourselves is so much more meaningful, powerful, and permanent. Sure, it can feel nice to depend on others to make you happy. But it is never permanent or healthy. It is our responsibility to make ourselves happy. We benefit from learning that we are responsible for our own happiness and then bringing that about for ourselves. . . . .... #palmviewpsychology #january2021 #newbeginnings #change #happiness #pursuitofhappiness #goals #newyearsresolution #psychotherapy #psychologist #clinician #psychiatry #anxiety #depressionhelp #copingstrategies #helpisavailable #telehealth #sandiego #california #therapythursday #selfcare #needsmet #selflove #mindfulness See more

Change is an inevitable part of life. Realizing that nothing lasts forever is one of the keys to lasting happiness and peace. Many people are unhappy because they do not accept the things or circumstances that they can’t change or have no control over. This leads to unnecessary frustration, disappointment, and suffering. Instead, we should focus our time and energy on the parts of our lives that we can change and accept the ones that we cannot. . . . #palmviewpsychology #control #psychotherapy #psychology #copingskills #telehealth #telehealththerapy #mindfulness #grateful #january #2021 #counselingpsychology #counseling #therapy #sandiego #california #happyholidays #anxiety #depressionhelp #meditation #courage #empowerment #covid_19 #change #growthmindset #emotionalintelligence #privatepractice #seekingtherapy #psychiatry

Gratitude helps you see what’s there instead of what isn’t. Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow. Learn to be thankful for what you already have, while you pursue all that you want. What are you grateful for today? . . .... . #palmviewpsychology #newyear #newgoals #2021 #psychology #mentalhealth #therapygoals #copingskills #grateful #gratitude #mindfulness #meditation #compassion #acceptance #couplestherapy #marriagegoals #marriagecounseling #gettingstronger #love #sandiego #counseling #telehealth #california #covid_19 #selfcare #selfdevelopment See more

Happy Holidays from Palm View Psychology! However you are celebrating the holidays, I hope you are healthy and safe! Every post I’ve read lately has started with, it’s been a crazy year... yes it’s been a challenging year and for many of us the holidays is already stressful, thus it’s okay if you are feeling especially stressed and overwhelmed lately! Holidays have the potential to create additional stress for individuals. However, you can view the holidays as an opportunit...y to enhance psychological well-being and be more optimistic about the season. This may be a good time to try to reframe your thinking about the holidays. -Take some time this week to listen to what your body needs. -Engage in self care routines and know you are deserving. -Don’t be afraid to ask for help. You don’t have to do everything by yourself! -Have realistic expectations. -Recognize what’s really important and focus on those things. -Seek support: consult with a psychologist; they can help you identify problem areas and then develop an action plan for changing them. Psychologists are uniquely trained to understand the connection between the mind and body. They can offer strategies as to how to adjust your goals so that they are attainable, as well as help you change unhealthy behaviors and address emotional issues. This will put you on a healthy path as you start the new year!! . . . . . #palmviewpsychology #happyholidays #christmas #newyear #familytime #overwhelmed #stressed #emotional #holidaystress #itsthemostwonderfultimeoftheyear #copingwithanxiety #depressionhelp #quarantine #telehealth #sandiego #california #askingforhelp #winter #familystress #covid_19 #couplegoals #couplestherapy #marriageandfamilytherapy #psychologist #therapythursday #santa #weallneedhelp #love
