Although we all really miss having students on campus and miss funny shared meals and loopy late night Open Studios and chatting with advisees, art faculty are also embracing this new studio space we suddenly have! You can catch Megan and Patrick in Sculpture and Printmaking most days, with guest appearances (brief and distant!!) by Chris (once Larissa returns, we hope to rope them into this routine). We are all experimenting with new processes and seeking out new materials - something we love to see Oxbohemians doing too. Although we miss students, we want you all to be safe and hope that you are. We’ll see you in the future.
Dear Friends of Oxbow, Together, we celebrate #GivingTuesday (LINK IN BIO) to support our favorite organizations around the world. It is through your philanthropic generosity that we can offer an innovative and equitable arts education for high school students. After attending Oxbow, our students are more confident and driven to continue their creative pursuits as agents of change in the world. This has been an unprecedented year for all of us and Oxbow’s annual fund campaig...n this year will keep our legacy alive as a preeminent leader in arts education. We need your help to secure a place in our vibrant community for future students. Every donation, large or small, makes a difference. Whether you are an alumnx of the program, a parent who supported their child’s vision, an arts enthusiast, or friend of the school, let’s partner together to support the arts! Thank you for your support, The Oxbow School Staff and Faculty
We are now hiring for four positions for our upcoming Spring 2021 semester - Head Chef, Sous Chef, Residential Intern, and Dining Services Intern. Please visit our link in bio under employment for the full job descriptions and instructions on how to apply!
We are so proud of all of our alumni and the lengths they have gone through to keep creating throughout this challenging time. During our Spring 2020 semester (OS42), our faculty and students published the Quaranzine in two volumes as part of our distance learning curriculum. These zines shared students’ philosophies for coping via creativity, vulnerability, and humor. Though virtual communication was often cumbersome, student artwork proved to be a very rewarding form of com...munication and connection. These publications revealed students’ intentions, introspection, and wisdom, and presented their artwork in a way that was both intimate and widely accessible. After our loss of physical community and sense of normalcy, these Quaranzines also attempted to provide a semblance of closure to several months through which our community had shown great resilience. We are very happy to announce that both volumes of the OS42 Quaranzine can now be viewed using the link in our bio! Alumni, interested students, and Oxbow friends, what tips or tricks have you discovered to help keep your creativity alive during these times? Share below! See more
