The most recent announcement that the Stay at Home order will last at least an additional 3 weeks is disheartening to say the least. I may be infuriated with the politicians, but these are the representatives who have been voted in by Californians. Right now, the government is trying to help but not every business is receiving relief with no visible end in sight. I have several friends who are business owners that haven’t been able to open their businesses since March and my ...heart breaks for them. My employees are my family and I cannot imagine what those restaurant owners are going through. On top of that, we hear of hospitals at maximum capacity and the heart-wrenching stories from nurses. Stories about how they are watching patients die alone without family around them or someone to hold their hand. Stories about being absolutely exhausted from a 9+ month battle. It's time to come together once again to help those most affected. We are lucky for our health and we will continue to push hard to stay open. We want to help the people in the service industry as well as frontline and healthcare workers. My staff and I have been working on a number of creative strategies. We have been posting on social media, creating TikTok videos, switching to online ordering, selling grocery items, and adapting to the ever-changing rules. We want to thank you for the continued support of the Olive family and our recent launch of Olive Us Care. We have amazing loyal customers that have helped us remain open. With their help, we have given gift certificates to numerous restaurant employees, care packages for industry workers and meals for frontline workers. THANK YOU for helping the Olive Family to be able to spread some love around the community. We will get through this! One day we’ll be back together sharing stories over coffee, scones and cinnamon rolls while enjoying the warm fireplace inside or the ocean breeze on the patio.
