We are fully vaccinated at Oakmont of Fair Oaks!! Thanks to a wonderful team for helping make this happen for our residents and our staff! We are so excited to begin safely seeing one another very soon

A Happy Garden Party Hour at Fair Oaks!! Although we can’t dance together in the living room, we make it exciting by dancing with our residents by their doorway! Their doors are open before we can ring their doorbells!! We can’t wait to dance again

Happy happy hour!! It’s a Luau at Fair Oaks Our residents also enjoyed joining a zoom call with our Executive Director, Matt Taylor! They got to know him and learn more about his past experiences. They look forward to meeting together weekly!!

Thank you to everyone who was a part of the Vaccination process at Oakmont of Fair Oaks! It was so successful because the team worked incredibly hard together to ensure a smooth process. We also encouraged our staff to receive the vaccine and enter into a raffle to win two of the newest Echo Dots. Congrats to Lia and Fatima on winning the prizes! Our residents and staff also enjoyed ringing the bell in celebration of receiving the vaccine! We are so proud of each and every one of our residents and staff for being brave and inspiring We can’t wait until our next vaccine!!

We all had an amazing Halloween week at Oakmont of Fair Oaks!! Our staff did a great job participating in all of the Halloween festivities that we hosted for our residents and their families. Thank you to all of the family members that dropped by our Trunk or Treat to wave hello and grab yummy treats from our residents. They really enjoyed seeing all of you! Our care staff also had a blast spooking us with hiding the doll around the building. The residents had a great laugh ...trying to find the doll everyday! We also held a pumpkin carving contest and the residents had so much fun voting for our staffs pumpkins! We hope you enjoy this fun video of our residents and staff!!

Our Traditions residents and staff enjoyed some time in the courtyard soaking in the sun while painting pumpkins yesterday afternoon! We are excited to have a "pumpkin patch" of our own with a social distancing twist. We hope to inspire SPOOKY TRADITIONS by sharing our creations with you!

It’s Halloween Happy Hour with the Songbird Trio! We made spooky and creative masks and showcased them for Happy Hour! Our kitchen made delicious broomsticks and spooky chocolate dipped strawberries

Thank you Bristol Hospice Sacramento for bringing our residents and us so much joy! We had a great time dancing with all of you and the yummy treats you provided hit the spot

Team Member Spotlight of the Week: Steve - Line Cook! This week we wanted to highlight our amazing Cook, Steve! Steve has been working with Oakmont for 7 years. He is an essential part of our talented Culinary Team. ... Steve started his career with Oakmont at our Roseville location in 2013. There he met our Executive Chef Joshua Quinto. They now both work here at our Oakmont of Fair Oaks location. Steve has such a wonderful personality and can always make a person laugh. He has been kind enough to share some wonderful memories and stories with our team and residents. At Oakmont, Steve really embodies Oakmonts culture and values. When asked what brought him to Oakmont and working in the Assisted Living Industry, he said that it was high Grandmother that sparked his interest. He started working in a community and fell in love with the environment and the residents. His favorite thing was hearing the residents stories and really appreciating their journey. He shares a special connection with our resident who are veterans after his journey in life. Fun fact: Steve enjoys baking bread and cooking meats! His favorite event that Oakmont has hosted is the Grand Opening Events! He also loves to play guitar! Our residents had the opportunity to hear Steve play at our 2019 Staff Talent show and he is looking forward to playing for them again Thank you Steve for being such a huge part of Oakmont of Fair Oaks! You are appreciated, thank you for your commitment and the energy you put in to you work! A HUGE SHOUT OUT TO OUR CULINARY TEAM FOR BEING ROCKSTARS!!!

Happy OKTOBERFEST !! We had such a fun time dancing with Elaine Lord and her amazing band during Happy Hour. Chef Josh and his team made delicious Oktoberfest snacks and the residents enjoyed every dip and bite!

Team Member Spotlight of the Week: Lia - Medication Tech! Meet Lia! Lia has been working with Oakmont of Fair Oaks since December 2019, she was actually hired on Christmas Eve. She was voted Oakmont of Fair Oak's AUGUST EMPLOYEE OF THE MONTH! Both the residents and her teammates agreed that she extremely deserving of this title. A little bit about Lia, she loves writing, photography and videography. She started her career in the Assisted Living industry at 17 years old, wh...en she became a caregiver. She is currently working as a Med Tech for our NOC shift. She has enjoyed working with her NOC team members and always gives them a shout out any chance she gets. Lia has also worked as a Med Tech in our AM and PM shifts, so she really understand how the building runs and what it takes to be a successful Medication Tech. When asked why she loves working for Oakmont she said that its about making the residents happy and taking care of them. She enjoys knowing that she can help make a difference in the residents lives in a positive way. She loves being there to help comfort the residents and being a friend. She prides herself in showing love, compassion and respect to our residents. Lia also said, "This job has taught me how to be stronger, emotionally and physically. It also makes me happy, i try to treat everyone as if I am taking care of my own mom or dad. My dad has given me the motivation to be in this field and I am cherishing my time here." THANK YOU SO MUCH Lia, for being a part of the Oakmont Family. We love recognizing employees for their hard work and dedication, thank you for being such a wonderful role model!
