Woo! Great practice today! Thanks to Isaac, Emily, and all the Rose folks who came out this Sunday morning and of course our regular crew! We started to see some cooling and even a few drops today in the sunshine, so I think it is time to plan for the certainty that Sunday and Wednesday practices will cancel more often than not during the rainy months approaching. an indoor Wednesday evening practice:... >Wednesday 6-9 PM >ARD Canyon View Center, >471 Maidu Dr., Auburn, CA And Sierra is making contact with a dance studio near Sac that will be fairly centrally located for a winter site with a very reasonable floor fee. Details to follow and it may or may not be a time we already gather. If any other strong possibilities are out there I'd love to know!

Hey folks! It has been pretty quiet around here since I took my "break" and pretty much quit fencing of all kinds for a bit, then snuck back into glowstick Saber, kept up a Monday morning rapier practice with my buddy who I really could not turn down wanting to learn... So I am back to being available to teach. I am still a stay at home Dad full time and NOT looking for pay, just available to those who love or might love to dance with steel.... I teach at my house 9a Monday mornings. Wednesday is a rapier practice at Heron' Landing park just above Hwy 16 on Sunrise. Sunday Morning SCA rapier practice 10am at Rusche Park. Sunday Evening GlowStick(full armor required) practice is at 6pm East Portal Park on Folsom Blvd near 51st. There are wonderful people working on Sacramento having a full time HEMA practice facility. Long Sword, Rapier, even those happy whacky Glowsticks are in the plans right now. Stay tuned as we know more on opening dates and such!

Hey Folks. Definitely Fighting Rapier again and folks are welcome to join the Monday morning and/or Wednesday evening practices. My non-practice events are severely limited and unpredictable until Jack graduates, but likely to increase a bit as time goes by. /wave !

Looks like a bumper crop of new and returning rapier folks tonight at Golden Rivers Gather at Rosemont Park this evening. I plan to be there at 7 tonight.

and here is my best run at a blurb - feel free to share it far and wide! Come join the Rapier fighting at Golden Beltane! We have many classes over all 10 days ...including morning warmups, unit melees, Blood of Heroes and of course rapier walk about in the "Mask-On" Rapier Village! During the week the Village will be opened just before lunch to all ages for Foam fighting - weapons provided, no personal weapons without a sticker from Nytshaed(no rattan or PVC cores). The Rose tavern will provide both fighter healing and water needs as well as comfortable shade for the gallery. In addition to potlucks first Sunday and second Saturday everyone is encouraged to bring any meals they like to the tavern. Morning wakeup will have hot water waiting for your morning beverage of choice all week. See more
