Clearlake Police Department 31.03.2021

Our thoughts are with the family and friends of Marcia Felty Taylor, who passed last night following a long and hard fought battle with cancer. Marcia was dedicated to promoting the welfare of animals within our community. She served with the City and Police Department as our Animal Licensing Technician and spent many hours connecting animals with rescues and adoptive families. Marcia was not one to take a challenge sitting. While battling cancer, she continued to come to wo...rk, maintained a positive attitude and didn’t complain. Although she retired last July to focus on her medical needs, she remained connected with and was proud to be part of her extended City Hall and Police Department families. Marcia truly helped us make a difference and we will miss her greatly.

Please use caution while driving due to the snow and wet weather. With the recent snow, there has been an increase in fallen trees, debris, and power lines in the roadways. Public Works and PG&E are working to clear hazards with a focus on main thoroughfares and hazards to homes. The roads are also extremely slippery and may have ice built up under the fallen snow. Everyone is advised to drive slower, give more following distance when following vehicles and begin stopping sooner when approaching a controlled intersection. For more tips regarding road and driving safety visit the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) website at www.nhtsa.gov. You can also visit the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) website at dot.ca.gov for roadway conditions and closures.
