We are joining the community of nearly 250k people walking in hundreds of cities across the country in support of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention's mission to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide. This is our sweet, need I say, ADORABLE, 8- week old golden retriever puppy, Ruby. She became part of our family on Thursday, February 22nd when we brought her... home from the breeder. Her puppy breath and joyful kisses filled our home with high-pitched giggles only a sweet puppy can bring. Our 11-year old son gleefully declared, I’m going to remember this day for the rest of my life! He is now Ruby’s boy. Ruby is eagerly on the lookout for him wherever her boy wanders down the hall, into the bedroom, in the backyard. Our kids and Ruby play newly invented puppy games Roll on the Grass with Puppy, Crawl Around - Puppy Follow. Refreshing playtime not on a computer screen, with our almost three-pound, sweet loving girl, Ruby. Four days after she became Ruby Zini, she grew lethargic, couldn’t keep her food down, battled diarrhea, and completely lost her appetite. The puppy play suddenly stopped. Then came the news from our veterinarian: she has parasites, 2 types of worms, AND Parvovirus - Ruby needs immediate specialized hospital treatment. Our giggles turned to tears. Our hearts are aching. Ruby is now fighting for her life in the animal hospital thanks to the generous support of Dr. Roberts of Northwood Animal Hospital. Dr. Roberts gave Ruby a chance at life and we are hopeful Ruby will soon be running around in our backyard and playing puppy games. We are praying for healing for our sweet Ruby.
