Excited to present our Cell Chemical Biology paper by UC Berkeley chemical biology grad student Lydia Boike, Alex Cioffi, and Novartis on a covalent ligand targeting an intrinsically disordered cysteine on c-MYC to inhibit MYC activity in cancer cells. Thanks also to the Mark Foundation for Cancer Research! https://www.cell.com/cell-chemical-//S2451-9456(20)30342-1

Congrats to our postdoc Yosuke Isobe on his discovery that multi-covalent natural products can be sources of new molecular glue scaffolds, exemplified by manumycin polyketide asukamycin that multi-covalently glues UBR7 and tumor suppressor p53 to stabilize p53 folding and activate p53 transcriptional activity in cancer cells to induce cancer cell death!
