Congratulations to Fullerton College graduate Omar Garcia! Omar is a recipient of the Jack Kent Cooke Foundation Undergraduate Transfer Scholarship, a highly selective scholarship for the nation's top community college students seeking to complete their bachelor’s degrees at four-year colleges or universities. Each Cooke Scholar has access to generous financial support for two to three years, college planning support, ongoing advising, and the opportunity to connect with the thriving community of fellow scholars.

Today is Election Day! We know that you know, but if you still need to vote, find the Vote Center nearest you and let your voice be heard. Voting options and Vote Center wait times are listed: https://www.ocvote.com/ The polls close tonight at 8 p.m. As long as you are in line by 8 p.m., you will be able to vote. You can even register to vote in person at your local Vote Center. GO VOTE!
The OC Health Care Agency needs your help in conducting a survey of attitudes toward vaccination for COVID-19, which will be of great assistance to them in planning for distribution of the vaccine when it becomes available. Cypress College and NOCE will partner with Pathways of Hope to host weekly drive-through food distribution events. Starting September 2, 2020, students can come each Wednesday from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. for food; hygiene items available upon request. Students MUST register to participate.
American Red Cross is testing blood, platelet, and plasma donations for COVID-19 antibodies. A positive antibody test result indicates that an individual may have had previous exposure to the virus that causes COVID-19 and their body has developed specific antibodies to the virus. Individuals who have a positive antibody test result may be eligible to participate in the convalescent plasma donation program to help currently ill COVID-19 patients.

On July 28, the District is hosting an Information Session for those interested in running for the Board of Trustees. Session topics will include overviews of the California Community Colleges and NOCCCD, as well as the role and responsibilities of Trustees. Attendees will be required to register for the session.
