Hello NAMI community, I normally am the one who is creating posts on the Facebook page. Lately I've been needing to take a break from this platform and spending it in time in nature with a friend or two. And coming out of the break, I feel a need to clarify certain topics. As many of the individuals with NAMI Alameda County are volunteers, the message replies are slower. ... If you are having an emergency, please call 911 or get in contact with your doctor or go to the hospital. Our response time is about 3 hours to a day. If you are looking for assistance, many times I relay it to the staff at NAMI Alameda for resources for a reply. So questions may take anywhere from 2 to 5 days. No medical advice will be given through this platform. I can refer you to our support groups, which then will give you access to individuals who are more connected with available services within our county. NAMI Alameda cares about you and your family. It also cares about getting you resources for your mental and emotional health. It also cares about our volunteers by setting some healthy expectations regarding this page and the limits of it. Have a good Memorial weekend.

Nature brings us closer to the beauty of the natural world and almost resets our perspectives of how humans are also part of a cycle. Nature teaches us to see beauty and appreciate the same resilience of trees that also exists in humans. You may feel tired. It's okay you can rest. You may be feeling overwhelmed or motivated to do everything you wanted to. It's okay you can be both. Don't hurt yourself by beating yourself up with some of the cycles of emotions. Maybe the new medication is taking a while to adjust to. Maybe it's the anticipation of waiting for results. You're still here being and doing the best you can. You are resilient. #motivational #encouragement #emotionalhealth
