Mountain Chapel 02.07.2021

We had a great turnout and a wonderful time last Sunday at Mountain Chapel’s community picnic. It was so good to see old friends and meet some new ones. Yesterday, we learned that someone tested positive for Covid so, to be safe, we will not meet for a couple of weekends. We will resume with the fun on Sunday, June 13.

Mountain Chapel is hosting barbecues this summer. These will be community picnics for everyone in or from Berry Creek. Back on the mountain? In an RV park in Oroville or beyond? Join us for our first event tomorrow, May 23, at 11:00 a.m. Look for the large white tent on Oro-Quincy Hwy. just below Cal Fire. Every week will be a little different as we bring friends together to rebuild family and community in Berry Creek. We’ll provide hot dogs, chips, sodas, and water. There will be music, a short message of encouragement, and fun for all ages. Please BRING A CHAIR and let’s hang together. You’re coming, right?

We’re coming back! Yes, Mountain Chapel is about to launch its first Sunday together since Covid and the Bear Fire. We lost our building on Rockerfeller Road, but we’re not letting that stop us. To start, we will be mobile so you’ll have to tune in to see where we will be from week to week. Our first gathering will be on Sunday, May 23, at 11:00 a.m. in the parking lot of the old schoolhouse on Oro-Quincy Hwy. Look for our white tent and join us for a picnic, music, and some... fun together. BYOC (bring your own chair). Mountain Chapel has always been a family, and we’re excited to be together again. This is not a members-only church, and we welcome you to join us as we come together for some good wholesome fun. We hope to have some fun activities for the kids as well. We’ll pop some hotdogs on the grill, and you can bring a side dish if you like. While the hotdogs are cooking, we will sing and share the goodness of God. Oh, how He loves us all! My husband and I started Mountain Chapel in 1980 in a couple of the buildings at the old, schoolhouse property so this is like going home. We are coming out of retirement to once again be your pastors. We love our church and our community. If you’ve been to Mountain Chapel before, please come. If you have never been to the church or don’t even consider yourself a churchgoer, you can come too. (-:
