Painting will continue on this art work, so stop by a few times to see what develops. Join us at the reception tonight at 5:30pm to gain a deeper insight into Dr. Serros art, who will speak at 6pm, and again at the Misltin Gallery at 7:30.
This weekend the VAC spent time in the Gallery with advisor Dr. Serros to help set up his show 'Into the Void' Stop by tomorrow for opening day! ... Featuring art works from his 40 year career as an artist, as well as former MJC students Leo Bratenus, and Katinka Van Dyk. And don't forget to check out the Mistlin Gallery downtown for more art works by Dr Serros, Leo, and Katinka!
Opening this Tuesday January 5th, at the Mistlin Gallery in Downtown Modesto, and showing through January 29th, 2016. MJC's Art History and Figure Drawing professor, (and the VAC's Advisor!), Richard David Serros will be exhibiting select art work produced throughout his 40 year career as an artist. Joining him will be past MJC Student Leo Bratenus and former VAC Member Katinka Van Dyk, who have been working with Dr. Serros in his Studio for the past two years. ... A reception will be held on Thursday January 21st, during the Modesto Art Walk, from 7-9pm, with artists speaking at 7:30. Dr. Serros will also be featured in our own MJC Gallery beginning January 19th, after the 2016 Spring semester begins, through February 4th, 2016. A reception will be held on Thursday January 21st, prior to the Mistlin Gallery reception, from 5:30 - 7:30pm, with artist speaking at 6pm. A busy night indeed! Please visit: http://www.ccartassn.org/ for more information about The Mistlin Gallery and The Central California Art Association Stay tuned here on our MJC Visual Arts Club Page for more information about The MJC Gallery and the MJC Visual Arts Club.
The Semester is long over now (and the Gallery is closed), so enjoy the Holidays and we'll be back in February with four new Exhibits, featuring MJC Faculty members as well as a local high school student show, and our very own MJC student body in The Celebration of the Humanities contest.
Our next show 'Found' will feature the collaborative and individual works of the MJC Visual Arts Club members! We will be working hard installing our work this week, so check it out next Monday 11/9.
