This week we honor all our wonderful nurses who selflessly give their time to help us mend kids but today we would like to shine a light on a former member of our MK Team, Heidi, who previously worked on the Mending Kids marketing team, but was inspired to become a nurse after traveling on a surgical mission to Guatemala. After experiencing the world's need for medical care, as well as the compassion expressed in each Mending Kids volunteer and staff member, I decided to joi...n the medical field. My goal in the future is to return to attending surgical missions with Mending Kids to continue my initial inspiration of helping children in need. Heidi is currently a registered nurse in an adult Telemetry/Stroke unit in San Diego.
