Meet Jordan Maurer, our firm's principal attorney. Jordan started Maurer Law to help people. He has represented children as young as three to elderly individuals in their 90s, and he has enjoyed forming meaningful relationships with all of them. In addition to a deep commitment to the ethical practice of law, Jordan has devoted countless hours as a trustee of the Placer County Law Library and has served on the board of directors of the Placer County Bar Association. If you’ve... worked with Jordan, you know he’s an early riser, often starting his day around 4 am, making it a priority to (almost) always be home by dinnertime to be with his wife and two young children. In his free time, he enjoys playing basketball and golf, and considers himself an amateur gardener. We recently represented a 79-year-old woman who was seriously injured during a violent dog attack. Our client was walking her small, 18-pound dog on-leash one morning when the defendant’s 85-pound dog attacked the smaller dog and then our client. The defendant’s dog was off-leash and roaming the neighborhood without supervision. It had escaped its owner’s yard and attacked other dogs and people before this. Sadly, both our client and her dog were injured and required immediat...e medical care. Both are okay now, but our client incurred substantial medical expenses as a result. The defendant’s insurance carrier disputed ownership of the dog, but our firm was able to successful establish ownership between two individuals and obtained settlement contributions from two different insurance companies to fully compensate our client. She was very pleased with the result we accomplished, and we were very glad to help her with this unfortunate situation. As we near springtime and people are outside more, please remember to keep your dog on-leash. We recently settled a case for a client who experienced serious injuries after he was crushed between his work van and another vehicle.
