Very pleased to announce our Not Guilty verdict today for our client- a local high school teacher - who was charged with Battery causing serious bodily injury. The jury's unanimous not guilty verdict came after three hours of deliberation. Our client claimed that he was attacked by the victim last year, and that he punched him out of fear for his safety. The claim of self-defense is always difficult bc you have to show that the first punch and the last punch were both justified. It helped that our client immediately called 911 to report the incident, and the victim went to the hospital and lied- told the nurse he was jumped by three guys. Nice to see that the spectrum of common sense still includes the right to defend yourself from imminent harm.

Interesting case that I just got dismissed. I'll call "creepy but not criminal".. Tell me what you think.. Client is at a local pet shop, and from across the store he is taking photos of a girl who turned out to be 17. He was photographing her from behind, but none of the photos were obscene. He never talked to her, or made any gestures at her. He took about five photos from across the store. The girl never noticed him, but her mom did, and told him to stop. Which he did. She calls the cops, and he is arrested for "annoying and molesting a child"..
