After I finished a massage session with my client, he reached up his arm above his head and said " OMG, I can lift my arm again!" I worked though the surrounding muscles, and focused my attention on the muscle that was unwilling to stretch enough for his arm to lift. Once I was able release the injured muscle, it relaxed enough for the arm to regain proper range of motion. The surrounding tightness was just the body protecting the injured muscle. If you have limited range of motion, do not adapt to it, allow massage to address the issue and gain it back. Wellness is a journey. Let's go.

The other day I shared some information about Occipital Neuralgia... pain at the base of the neck caused from repetitive motion, like looking up and down at your computer screen. Here's a great #selfmassage technique you can use at home in between sessions with me. All you need is a tennis ball and a sock!

Looking down at a keyboard or reading a book are common causes of Occipital Neuralgia... what a pain in the neck! Repetitive motion injuries can linger on without treatment and corrective behavior. Massage therapy can help alleviate these symptoms. You should also invest in a monitor stand, or adjust your chair.

Know that strain you feel at the base of your skull, where it meets your neck? The ache that you feel every day after a few hours at your desk, or working the cash register. Yeah, that's Occipital Neuralgia. More info on this coming soon.

More than tennis causes this pain in the elbow. Massage is a great way to prevent or alleviate pain from repetitive motion injuries. I'm waking the weekend off, so try these self massage techniques. If you'd like to book a #massage appointment for next week just message me.
