WHY IS THIS IMPORTANT? 1) As per California State Public Health and Ventura County Health Mandates, face masks are required while outdoors in public spaces when maintaining a physical distance of 6 feet from persons who are not members of the same household or residence. 2) If the VC Foundation's Marketplace is forced to sh...ut-down again due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it will greatly affect our ability to provide critical support to Ventura College students. - Prior to COVID-19, the Ventura College Foundation's Weekend Marketplace generated $1.5 million annually from space rentals to support the foundation, covering all the costs of staff, operations, and a portion of the foundation's core programs including scholarships, the VC Promise and textbook lending. - The Ventura College Foundation supported over 5,800 students last year and just awarded 427 scholarships in April totaling $683,748, the largest annual scholarship distribution in the foundation’s history. 3) We have a lot riding on the Marketplace being open, vendors and customers staying safe, and being able to support Ventura College's students who are struggling more now than ever. Happy 4th of July! The Ventura College Foundation's Weekend Marketplace is open this weekend! Thank you for helping to keep our community safe and the Marketplace open by wearing a face covering and by staying 6 feet apart between vendor's customers to maintain social distancing. No entry without a face mask. All violators will be escorted out from the Marketplace to keep vendors, customers, and our staff safe and healthy. Thank you for your understanding and assistance.
