A big SHOUT-OUT to my studio-mate and friend, Gretchen Z. Nameremmiz! I had complained to her about the troubles I was having with my small-screened MacBook Pro... to create designs for my art. She asked if I had an external monitor, (I did) and if so, she had lots of possible connectors I could use to connect the two together. The next day, I brought my Dell monitor in...and less than 20 minutes later, Gretchen found the right connector and hooked them up! Sad news today. Lorrie Toles, a friend to MIAS and participating artist in two of our shows, passed on Friday from complications due to cancer. Her last show with us was in late September in the Creating Cultural Anarchy exhibit. You can watch the full exhibit from our post on 1OCT. Took the doggie to the studio today to get her more used to being there. Between some whining and photo bombing my selfies, we had a good adventure worthy of a ...walk on the grassy waterfront during sunset hours and having a porter with sweet potato fries while we watched doggies of all sizes and breed stroll around with their owners. It was a good afternoon and I’m almost done with this large paint I started in the beginning of quarantine times, then I paused when I felt that it wasn’t going in the direction I wanted and finally returned to it yesterday. That felt good. Sometimes you gotta walk away from it to really allow your eyes to see it with a clean slate. Many symbols in this painting, I’m not even sure what to call it yet. We shall see. Entre choramingos e interromper minhas selfies, tivemos uma boa aventura digna de uma caminhada n o gramado da orla durante o pôr do sol e uma breja com batata-doce frita enquanto observávamos cachorrinhos de todos os tamanhos e crias passeando com seus donos. Foi uma boa tarde e quase terminei esse quadro que comecei no início dos tempos de quarentena, então parei quando senti que não estava indo na direção que eu queria e finalmente voltei ontem. Bom progresso. Às vezes, você precisa se afastar para permitir que seus olhos vejam com clareza uma nova perspectiva. Muitos símbolos nesta pintura, eu nem tenho certeza de como chamá-la ainda.
