Jerry Maloney’s Black Belt Anniversary, September 4, 2020. 35 years of learning, training, teaching and running the school. So much to be grateful for. The opportunity to learn and work with a wide range of people. I am still learning and getting more understanding of what we actually do at Maloney’s Martial Arts. We come together in peace and work together in harmony.... To practice self-mastery, to be able to control our attention, control our thoughts, our feelings, our words, our actions and direct them towards constructive activities to set up positive experiences for ourselves and others. Self-control during turmoil is not easy. It takes conscious effort. If you do the work and cultivate more respect, the positive experience you will set up is feeling more respect for yourself and others. And being respectful is self-defense; it avoids a lot of turmoil and can help keep turmoil from escalating. I am grateful for the good habits and health that developed from the many years of training in the martial arts. It allows me to keep practicing self-mastery in order to cultivate peace and harmony in my body, my mind and emotions. Sacred Fire Love, Jerry Maloney
