What is happening to the wedding industry and the small businesses (guys, like, teeny tiny solopreneurs) that make us us is bananas. Take a read on this slightly salty but very real article on WHY our industry is hit harder than others. There are curse words. I feel them. We don’t go back to business as usual in 2021 when this pandemic ends. (Praise be.) We continue our compromise for another year to make past contracts whole. ANOTHER. YEAR. We don’t need pity, we n...eed awareness! If you are a couple who has changed dates and your vendors have not charged extra, please acknowledge this act of love by thanking them. I have learned a lot this week. I am far from the anti-racist person I strive to be, and am compelled to ask...where are our Black wedding/event industry vendors? Let’s raise them up - please help me gather a list so we can show our San Diego Black creatives that we value you, respect you, and want to collaborate together. I have failed at diversifying and plan to change. It’s uncomfortable. It’s necessary.
