Senon uses the book as an ancient motif to comment on today’s digital propaganda and manipulation of human emotion. Our need to shape reality to our personal beliefs is evident in our zeal to agree, convert or deny using any medium at our disposal. #senonwilliams #lshcolab #deepcuts #endofclass #schoolisnotinsession #bookstagram #laartist #tome

LSH Colab 09.02.2021

Introducing LSH CoLAB's Artists curating Artists series Senon Williams DEEP CUTS curated by Laura S Howe... October 9, 2020 - November 21, 2020 Socially Distant Opening October 17th 46 PM DM for your appointment time Plenty of outdoor space Senon Williams’s first solo show of works on canvas Deep Cuts suggests a myriad of influences stemming from his life as a touring musician, craftsman and artist. In today’s world we look to the internet for knowledge and truths. Instead we find blown up false realities and horse blinders hijacking us to fabricated conclusions. Senon uses the book as an ancient motif to comment on today’s digital propaganda and manipulation of human emotion. Our need to shape reality to our personal beliefs is evident in our zeal to agree, convert or deny using any medium at our disposal. The translucent volumes in Senon’s paintings reveal the light and dark interplay beneath the cover. The aphorisms question what would be held in a tome of knowledge. The lost Library at Alexandria held information that we cannot fathom, revered and duplicitous, like finding the rarest of tracks. History is passed down to us through biased perspectives. What do we do? Read between the lines? Read through them completely? Or perhaps make our own these cuts run deep. #senonwill #deepcuts #lshcolab #artistsxartists #artistscurateartists #libraryatalexandria #paintedlibrary #bookstagram #worksoncanvas
