One of our adorable 6 year old students looked up at me with her big brown eyes and said Have you seen the Wizard of Oz? I said Yes! I have! (I’ve it seen about a million times growing up.) She went on to say There is a girl, straw man, a lion... and a robot.

This week our young students were learning about Beethoven and the conductor of the orchestra. As I was talking about the conductors job, I showed a photo of a very expressive conductor on the screen and asked if anyone in the class if they knew who it was. One little girl had her had up and said I know who that is! It’s Beethoven! (Hehe) Well, it was actually a photo of Gustavo Dudamel, conductor of the LA Phil! Do you see a resemblance? A call came in today and the voice on the phone asked Do you repair guitars. I responded very gently, No, I’m sorry we do not. and then referred her to another shop in town that could help. She continued and asked It says you teach all ages. Is that right? Do you teach 95 year olds? Because my husband has had this guitar for over 40 years and he hasn’t learn to play it yet. I’m going to get it fixed and have him take some lessons. He likes country music. Do you teach country music? How long until he can play that? I love her.
