Happy Birthday to my hubby hubs. I asked him to give me an adventurous flavor to make into a cake for his birthday this weekend. We came up with an Earl Grey tea cake, layered with Blackberry Curd and Earl Grey buttercream. It was SO YUMMY! The tanginess of the blackberry balanced the depth of the black tea so well. I ground up actual tea leaves as fine as I could get them and put them into the cake and buttercream, those are the little specs you see in the picture. Unfortunately I forgot to snap a pic in the day so this is right before it went into my belly.
