How about a little Wednesday Wisdom So what is that muscle, and how do you work it? Well just get cold, or scared, or even excited and you will see that muscle in action. We normally refer to it as Goosebumps.... Did you know this could be the reason you feel that instant prickly feeling after a shave? The Arrector Pili is a tiny muscle fiber that is attached to the bottom of your hair follicles and the dermal tissues below the skin. When the muscle contracts the follicle tightens causing the hair to be erect or stand up When you wax, your pulling hair out. The hair is being damaged in the bulb. So when this muscle contracts from coldness or fear causing goosebumps, there is no hair to stimulate or erect. Just another reason waxing is better than shaving. This beauty of a sketch of how the Arrector Pili muscle works is by Lisa Clark #arrectorpili #lilisesthetics #southbaywaxing #arrectorpilimuscle #skincareadvice #beauty #skincare #estheticianadvice #waxing #hairremoval #goosebumps #skin #hairfollicles #shaving #prickly #info

Cleansing is so important and often it’s neglected or done improperly. (Makeup remover towels does not count.) It is important to cleanse your skin every night to remove makeup, impurities, dead skin cells, and excess oil. A morning cleansing is also beneficial, as it removes any toxins the skin eliminates during the night and refreshes the skin. Here I show you how I cleanse in the morning using the oil cleansing method. (This is also my PM cleanse) Seabuckthorn oil - Be...st Skin Ever is my favorite it’s so relaxing. The scents and texture is so beautifully satisfying! It’s harmony! It’s an all-in-one botanical blend that cleanse, moisturizer, exfoliate, and nourishes the skin bring back balance to your skin’s natural state. I even enjoy using seabuckthorn as a double cleanse method. Double cleanse? What’s that? It’s as simple as washing your face twice. First, with an oil-based cleanser and again with a water-based cleanser. HOW I USE: I first warm up 3-4 pumps of oil in my hands, apply by pressing oil into face & massage for a couple mins, ( don’t for get your neck and massage upward) then wet corner of wash cloth with warm water only and wipe off oil (moving in circles about the face), wet another corner of the wash cloth & apply 2-3 pumps and rub in circular motions (I personally repeat this about 1-3x depending on if I’m wearing makeup or not) & then rub in whatever is left over or add an extra pump if I need a little more moisture. Most people say that they joined the beauty industry because they wanted to make individuals feel good about themselves. Honestly, when I started I just knew I wanted to do makeup and a mentor encouraged me to go get my esthetics license first. In her opinion she said to me, to go far with makeup you need to know and understand skin. Don’t just go take makeup classes. So I enrolled in Aveda institute & I had no idea what I was about to get into. But it was the best 900 hours ...I did for myself. (Can I just say, you honestly need like no hours to graduate in Florida lol ) In 2013 I graduated with a dual license in esthetics and massage therapy. I had fallen in loved with skincare & never picked up a makeup brush since. I moved back to California re-enrolled for more training and was really introduced to waxing. It’s sad to say but most beauty schools don't really cover much waxing in their courses. I then began a 3 year career at European Wax Center and fell in love with waxing. Fast forward to 2017 I opened my own waxing business with the help and the full support of my husband. It gave me the opportunity to be with my daughter 24/7 who many of you have grown to love and watched Ava growing up. Waxing has giving me so much to love. I get to be apart of making my clients day brighter, building relationships. I mean the conversations we have are just the best! I sometimes feel like a therapist lol I love the instant gratification of the transformation that waxing gives for both myself and my clients It’s given me something to constantly improve my skills in. I love encouraging, comforting and walking new clients through their first wax & their reaction once it’s all over. I love being able to educate my clients about how to take care of their skin and hair. Thank you to everyone who has been on this journey with me! #ilovemyjob #bossmom #boss #waxingislife #waxspecialist #waxing #esthitician #esthi #wax #dreambig #workhard #beautyindustry #lilisesthetics #dreams #futureesthetician #beauty #goals #future #journey

Benefits Of Waxing Waxing is a safe, economical and reliable way of removing body hair. Waxing can become addicting once you start and is worth every penny! You get amazing quick smooth even results. Waxing not only removes unwanted hair but any dry and dead skin cells in the process.... Less irritations It’s a time saver, you're in and out and you don't have to worry about it again till next month. Zero shaving ! So say goodbye to cuts and nicks. Slower re-growth, after waxing the re-growth often takes 4-6 weeks to come back!!! The hair is pulled out by the ROOT causing temporary damage to the hair follicle making hair weak. You’ll start to notice finner hairs. #lilisesthetics #wax #waxing #bodywaxing #bodywax #hairremoval #hairregrowth #waxspecialist #esthi #waxer #waxinglife #hair #removal #bikini #brazilianwax #beauty #waxtips #benefits #waxbenefits #estheticsstudent #esthetican #tips #selfcare See more

Are you following up with exfoliating & moisturizing for your at home care, after waxing? Did you know it impacts your waxing results tremendously?! Hmm...If you aren’t you should. Heck, you should be doing it even if you don’t wax. Regardless if you wax, shave or go all natural you should be exfoliating 2-3 times a week and moisturizing daily! And @fur_you products are great no matter what your hair removal preference.... Silk Scrub is a triple action exfoliate that’s Gentle enough to be used after hair removal. 1. My goal is to provide you with exceptional service while maintaining a high standard of cleanliness while meeting and exceeding all state board regulations. The state of California has implemented new regulations in order for businesses to remain open. This means all clients must follow new policies. I understand that for some of you these protocols may seem unnecessary or a bit annoyance. But for some it maybe just enough comfort to venturing back out to public interaction. . If you are unable or unwilling to comply with the new policies I will gladly reschedule or cancel your appointment. Please reach out with any questions I look forward to see you!
