It seems to me that it is time for a revolution. We are ready for a dramatic change in the way we interact with our children and with each other. Up until now we have blamed everything outside of ourselves for what is wrong with our children's world.... It has been the schools, the politicians, and the media where the responsibility has been focused and I would like to force the following issue: While there is lots of truth in the need to change the greater environment we tend to overlook the 'pink elephant' in our kid's lives. Parents need to clean up their own acts. We pretend that our childhood wounds don't exist and we mask the hurts that activate the way we react to our little ones. We control and nag them, in the name of concern, respect and love. We worry about test scores and clean rooms as if that is what brings true happiness. It is time for a revolution of our own hearts.
