The Laguna Beach County Water District salutes our Heroes.
On May 4, 1925, Laguna residents went to the polls and approved the formation of the Laguna Beach County Water District by a vote of 359 to 0. Among the many community enterprises undertaken by the citizens of Laguna, formation of the District has been one of the most successful. Public approval of the District was even more emphatic not long after when a bond issue of $600,000 to build a new water supply system was authorized. The vote was 437 for; 0 against. And on January 18, 1955, an event of major historical importance took place, the District paid off the last $30,000 of its $600,000 debt. Since that time, the District has operated on a pay-as-you-go basis. Today, the District is proud to provide water service to over 19,000 Laguna Beach residents. #LBCWD #LBCWD95
