Heart & Stroke Walk When: Saturday, October 22 Time: 8:30 a.m. Where: Kelley Park... 635 Phelan Ave., San Jose Itinerary: 8:30 am: Event Areas Open 9:45 am: National Anthem and Stage Program 9:50 am: Survivor Mile begins 10:00 am: Heart & Stroke Walk Begins 11:30 am: T-Shirt Design Contest 11:45 am: Closing Ceremonies The walk begins at 10:00 AM and is 3 miles in length. AHA will also offer an alternative Survivor Mile for those who may need a shorter distance. Please obey event route volunteers Dogs are NOT allowed in History Park Dogs must be on a 6ft or shorter leash in Kelley Park There will be three water stations on the route Parking Options VIP and Handicap Parking: 743 Phelan Ave., Kelley Park, CA 95112 Event Reserved Free Parking: SJSU Track Lot: 1312 South 10th Street, San Jose, CA 95112 (0.9 mile from the event site; 500 parking spots will be available) Kelley Park K2 Lot: 1600 Senter Road, San Jose, CA 95112 (0.4 mile from the event site; 75 parking spots will be available) Other Public Parking: Santa Clara Social Services: 1867 Senter Road, San Jose, CA 95112 (0.3 mile from the event site; will be opened for public parking on weekends) Sharks Ice Parking Lot: 1580 South 10th Street, San Jose, CA 95112 (0.6 mile from the event site; $7 per vehicle) Kelley Park K1 Lot: 1300 Senter Road, San Jose, CA 95112 (0.7 mile from the event site; $10 per vehicle) Kelley Park East Lot: 748 Story Road, San Jose, CA 95112 (1 mile from the event site; $10 per vehicle) Frequently Asked Questions -How long is the walk? The walk is approximately 3 miles in length. We will also offer an alternative Survivor Mile for those who may need a shorter distance. -Can I run the route? Yes, participants are more than welcome to run the route. We ask that you move to the front of the starting line so that you are ahead of the walkers. -Are dogs allowed? Dogs are not allowed in History Park and need to be leashed in Kelley Park. However, we do not encourage dogs to attend as it is very crowded and can be frightening to dogs. -Will food be provided? There will be a refreshment tent in the festival area for all participants with light snacks and beverages. -Will water be available? Yes, water will be available at the refreshment tent within the festival area and at the water stops located on the walk route. -Where are the bathrooms? Portable toilets will be located at the main event site -Where is First Aid? First Aid assistance can be found at the Info/First Aid tent and at the rest stops at If assistance is needed elsewhere, please alert the nearest EMT or Safety Monitor/Volunteer. -Is the event handicap accessible? Yes, the route is handicap accessible. Be on the lookout for handicap access ramp signs. -Are strollers allowed on the route? Yes! Strollers are allowed.
