"Christ the Light Campaign" Message from Spiritual Committee The Miracle of Multiplication of Loaves The Gospel of John contains seven miracles performed by Jesus. Of these seven miracles, I would like to share my reflection on the miracle reported in John 6:1-14.... The miracle of the multiplication of loaves is an extraordinary miracle of Jesus for us, and its account appears in all four gospels. Hidden beneath the marvel of the miracle we often miss an important act that made it all possible - a sacrificial act by a child offering his five loaves and two fishes. It is with this meek and humble sacrifice that Jesus worked his great miracle of feeding the five thousand men. The Lord always finds us midst of our lacking and dire needs and fills us with hope and works his miracle. When our collective prayers and petitions are sincere, pure and united, God works his miracle among us that equals the greatness of the multiplication of the loaves. For our personal needs and wants, we take all necessary measures and actions to achieve that goal. The miracles of faith likewise need our unwavering faith, earnest personal attentiveness, and sacrificial efforts. While reading the scripture passage, I thought reflected on the sacrifice of the child. The child’s sacrifice was not simply an offering of his material possession, the five loaves, and two fishes, but also an offering of his steadfast faith, purity of heart and trust in God that Jesus was able to work his miracle of feeding the hungry five thousand men. Brothers and sisters, never think that what we have to offer is inadequate because Jesus works his best miracles with humble offerings. He will shower us with his abundant blessing and grace when our modest offerings are made with faith, trust and in confidence. Jesus always manifests himself to those who hunger and thirst for his generosity and miracles. I believe KMCC is such a place and for his miracle. Let us witness a real miracle here at KMCC! Let us ask and offer ourselves by fully participating and supporting our mission for the Christ the Light campaign.

June 4, Bulletin Message by Christ the Light Campaign Spritual Committee Songs of Praise and Exultation Praise be to our Lord Jesus Christ... Brothers and sisters, before Jesus ascended into heaven he commanded for his disciples to Go, therefore, and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, until the end of the age. (Matt 28:19-20) From then on his disciples began promulgating the Good News to everyone and everywhere despite relentless and cruel persecutions of the time. Many bore witness to faith by shedding their blood in martyrdom. The history of our early Korean Church tells a similar story as our early Christian brethren suffered, died and persevered the years of cruel and unjust persecutions by the Korean government. The Church recognized 103 of these martyrs and elevated them to highest honor of sainthood. We are the proud descendants of these martyrs and our community bears their name, the Korean Martyrs Catholic Center (KMCC). Forty years ago, through much prayers, personal sacrifices and in the joy of the Holy Spirit, God blessed us with a small plot of land to establish the first Korean Catholic community in the Diocese of Orange. Since then, formed and helped by the spirit of the martyrs, calls to vocation to the priesthood, diaconate and religious life were answered; our community increased and grew so to give rise to two more Korean catholic communities in the diocese, the Saint Thomas KCC and Our Lady of Peace KCC. So today, as was forty years ago, God blesses us with a wonderful opportunity to expand our property and renovate our facility so that our doors are always open and welcoming to those who desire to know God. As each of us live the gospel message love one another as I have loved you our KMCC community becomes a place of new hope to those who live in darkness and despair; a place of renewed life and freedom to those who burdened by the constant pursuit of material and secular values. May our joyful songs of praise and exultation ring out to the ends of the world. See more
