Leave it to the Jury~ Richard Hauptmann In 1932, Charles Lindbergh Jr, was kidnapped from his home, and a $50,000 ransom note was delivered. Sadly, the infant’s body was discovered a few months after the kidnapping. Two years after the abduction, a bank teller had received a $10 gold certificate from a gas station, with a serial number that matched the list of Lindbergh ransom bills.... Hauptmann was convicted of the abduction and murder of the 20 month-old son of famous aviator Charles Lindbergh, and his wife Anne Lindbergh. Hauptmann’s defense argued that the evidence used to convict him was actually evidence pointing to Fisch as the proper killer. Hauptmann pleaded not guilty, even turning down a life sentence instead if he confessed. Even though the evidence was circumstantial, he was found guilty, and sentenced to death. On the day of his execution, Hauptmann told his spiritual advisor I am absolutely innocent of the crime with which I am burdened. The cult was a quasi-commune at arose in California in the late 1960s, and Manson’s followers committed a series of nine murders.
