On Friday 12/11/2015, Officers from Recruiting Unit hosted a seminar for interested applicants who wished to pursue a career in law enforcement. We spoke to approx 31 individuals, explained the hiring process, academy requirements, job duties, and job benefits. On Wednesday, 12/09/2015, the Fresno Police Dept Recruiting Unit traveled to San Francisco and attended the National Career Fair event. This was a great turn out with approximately 400 job seekers who attended the event. There were many interested applicants who wanted to be a part of our department. On Tuesday 12/08/2015, the Fresno Police Dept Recruiting Unit traveled to Orange County and attended the National Career Fair event. This was a great turn out with approximately 200 job seekers who attended the event. All attendees were eager to find work and some had interest in the law enforcement field. On Saturday 12/05/15 and 12/06/2015, Officers from the Fresno Police Dept Recruiting Unit assisted the Southwest Policing District in Bringing Broken Neighborhoods back to life. The 14th Annual Santa's Village was filled with fun and excitement as there were free wrapped toys, free coats, free corn dogs, and free photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus. This event will be open for two more days, on 12/11 from 4pm-8pm and 12/12 from 11am-4pm. On 12/01/2015, Officers from the Southeast district, Recruiting Unit, and Community Service Officer attended a Crime Prevention Night at the Fresno Pacific University. Neighbors in the area attended the event and discussed plans on how to make the neighborhood a safer place to live. On 12/01/2015, The Fresno Police Dept had 6 Academy Cadets that graduated from the Fresno City College Night Class #136. There are other graduating Cadets that are still in the hiring process with Fresno PD. Promotion for Cadets to Police Recruits soon to follow at City Hall. We are extremely proud of these Cadets and wish them a long and successful career with Fresno PD.
