Our members are continuing to find unique ways to stay connected! Earlier this fall, FORWARD (Friends Offering Resources, Wisdom, And Relationship Development) Westside held a Sips and Nibbles class with @hipcooks. I joined the Junior League of Los Angeles because it is a training organization that exists to promote voluntarism and develop the potential of women civic leaders. For 16 years, I have been inspired to stay active in the League because of the direct service projects, the advocacy efforts, and the collective impact our membership has made in building better communities for women, children, the homeless, low-income families and transition age foster youth. More importantly, I am grateful for the long-standing relationships that I have developed over the years. - Joy C. Throughout my life, I’ve been blessed with a support system that has invested countless hours in helping mold the person I am today. Grateful for their immense generosity towards building my future, I pay it forward by serving others and investing in my community through the Junior League of Los Angeles. I serve because I love my community. I want to be a part of its growth and success and want to help make the city that watched me grow a better place to live. By participat...ing in the Little Black Dress initiative, you’re making an impact in the future of a foster youth embarking on their journey through life. I challenge you to be intentional in your community service. If this initiative speaks to you please donate to make a difference in someone’s life. The smile you’ll put on their faces will be 100% worth it. Cheldy Moran, Top Fundraiser for JLLA’s LBDI 2019 Campaign #WhyJLLA #WomenWhoLead #FosterYouth #LBDI #JLLosAngeles See more

There are unique barriers to voting experienced by survivors of intimate partner violence. From fear of potential retaliation to privacy concerns, some survivors face a unique set of obstacles that prevent them from making their voices heard at the voting booth. Since 1999, the state of California has run the Safe at Home program to ensure that victims of domestic violence and human trafficking have a mailing address that enables them to vote by mail confidentially.
