Really think about the reasons you exercise. Is it to make yourself better? Or make yourself FEEL better? There's a monumental difference! #Repost @drnadolsky (@get_repost) I used to exercise in order to attract women. Now that I am married I do it for the reasons on the left and get my patients thinking that way too ... #Repost @soheefit with @repostapp Staying physically active and exercising regularly is important for overall health! But are you doing it for the right reasons? One of the biggest mistakes I see being made is performing exercise as punishment. Maybe you accidentally overindulged last night and feel that you need to "make up" for your whoopsie, so you trudge away on the treadmill for an extra 2 hours. But not only does that burn far fewer calories than most people realize, it also sets you up for a vicious cycle and creates a negative relationship with exercise in general. I'm all for exercise having a POSITIVE influence on your life. Do it to build yourself up, not break yourself down. It should reduce stress, not be the source of it. You should look forward to your workouts and enjoy the exercise you do. That's the key to long-term adherence and health. See more
