Watching Oliver’s transition from trying to relax in his new home, to feeling truly relaxed, has been so heart warming!!! He has done great on learning the layout and doesn’t require reminders if where steps and things are now. Yay for less bumping into things! #blindcatsrule

Yesterday we welcomed this fine gentlemen into our home. I named him Oliver. He is 14yrs old and blind. He originally came into the Nevada Human Society Carson location as a stray, was adopted in 12/2020 where the lady let him outside and he was picked up as a stray in 02/2021. Previous owner did not return calls to pick him up, he was then transferred to the Reno location at beginning of March. He is so calm, quiet, gentle and respectful to Isis needing space during acclimation. He had dental work done so he’s on medications but is comfortable quiet quickly which is a blessing! So happy to have him with us, this will help Isis not feel separation anxiety when I am away from home and he has a loving home that won’t send a blind boy outside

Added comforts for Isis. Tomorrow marks 1 month since Frankie transitioned and while we are okay, she is letting me know that being alone for the first time in 12yrs is not her preference. I take extra measures to give her comfort when I leave home: soothing music, pheromone spray, soft fuzzies to pretend she’s snuggled with one of the boys.
