WIN! A federal court in Illinois vacated Trump’s new public charge rule nationwide, meaning the rule WILL NOT expand the definition of immigrants who are inadmissible to the US because of their finances. DHS may not apply the public charge rule as of TODAY! We expect another legal battle, but for now, we celebrate this win!

We condemn ICE, its inhumane policies and inability to keep people safe. We know ICE is incapable of managing itself, but this damning report sheds even more light, and gives us more reason to demand they #ABOLISHICE.
ICYMI: Check out this webinar with SDIRC & ACLU of San Diego and Imperial Counties senior attorney Mitra Ebadolahi to better understand how to safely exercise your First Amendment Rights when attending a protest or march.
Earlier this month, ICE deported a group of nearly 60 Cameroonian & 28 Congolese immigrants despite grave concerns for their safety & community protests. The flight included women who underwent gynecological procedures without informed consent at an ICE detention center in Georgia. ICE systematically deprives thousands of immigrants of liberty each day in the world’s largest system of immigration detention. Medical neglect and severe abuses have received significant attention. NEW! A new lawsuit was filed in CA challenging the "Remain in Mexico" policy, a cruel program destroying families of migrants who fled their homes seeking safety. Under the Remain in Mexico policy, the U.S. has turned its back on more than 60,000 people, including thousands of vulnerable children, many of whom are sleeping in slums and tent cities, in grave danger and without access to basic necessities. We have a legal and moral obligation to allow these asylum seekers to... stay in the U.S. while their cases are being heard. #RestoreAsylumNOW Immigrant Defense Project Jewish Family Service of San Diego National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild Innovation Law Lab
David Villalobos was a father, with dreams of becoming a professional boxer. David could be someone you know. His child, sister and mother will never see him again. This could have been prevented, but the reality of it all is, Border Patrol’s lack of accountability & oversight combined with a culture of violence has resulted in the deaths of too many lives.
Black immigrants represent over 20% of immigrants facing deportation because of the criminal punishment system. Join us in taking action TODAY by calling Diane Feinstein and Kamala Harris to demand they take action & #SaveBlackImmigrantFamilies.
Join us tomorrow at 6pm PT via Facebook Live for a webinar that will help you better understand how to safely exercise your First Amendment Rights, so that you can make informed decisions regarding whether to participate in a protest or march.
