Aloha Ohana, I hope everyone has a Merry Christmas, Happy Hannukah, Happy Kwanzaa, and any and all holiday that is celebrated. Remember to always be thankful and appreciative of what we have, no matter how big or small. I hope everyone has been well and healthy. Aloha everyone, I hope everyone has been doing well. The center has asked me if I would be interested in doing zoom classes. I'm very torn on this. I miss all the students and miss you guys interacting with each other. Something is better than nothing, though. From an economics standpoint, I don't feel like it's a good value for the hard earned dollar for the parents because I cannot correct mistakes as I would be able to in person. Sensei Pease was allowed to run his class ...in an open park with limited number of students in San Diego. That is something I had also discussed with the center. If they allow it, I'm thinking Saturday morning would be a good way to start until things go back to normal since week nights would be hard in a park with nights getting dark earlier soon. Aloha ohana. I hope everyone is staying well and healthy. I finally got some word from the community center. Based off communication from the Governor's office, the city does not anticipate the allowing Parks and Recreation classes to be opened until the new year at best. This is very disheartening news. My main concern is the health, safety and confidence for my students and their families. The city suggested virtual classes, but I don't feel that would provide value for the dollar nor the in person ability to correct technique. If you have any questions, comments, concerns or ideas, please don't hesitate to reach out to me. Stay safe, stay strong and continue training the basics. We will get through this. The center still has not received word as to when the state will allow classes to resume, unfortunately but that day will come when we can resume. Stay strong and maintain faith! - Sensei

Update: Fontana city has extended the shutdown until May 1. The parks and recs department hope it will be sooner but we are at the mercy of the city and state governor unfortunately. Fontana City officials have ordered all Parks and Recreation classes be cancelled the next 2 weeks. Next week was the normal spring break week, so we are only losing this week unless things don't improve. Your health is most important! Remember to stay safe and be smart. Always take precaution to keep clean and avoid touching your face and mouth when you're out in public. Train at home and we'll be back in the dojo soon enough. Osu! -Sensei
