Divine Mother is putting on a beautiful display at Hidden Valley Ashram as we move into spring. Fruit trees, wildflowers, and native bushes are all in full bloom. The local wildlife is enjoying the abundance, and we're enjoying the wildlife and flowers.
We recently installed some low-voltage solar-powered lighting on the path to the main office:
The Monks and Residents of Hidden Valley Ashram wish you a very joyous and blessed Christmas!

Weeding project in the area in front of the office, which was recently planted with a new ground cover. How many monks can you see?

God is not remote from His creation; He is always with us. You don’t see the breeze, but you know it is there. He who made the breeze and us, He is here. Every... time I move my hands and feet I see it is He who is moving them. The whole universe trembles with His presence. There is no other reality. Paramahansa Yogananda, from The Divine Romance

While the ashram is currently closed to visitors and guests, the wildlife is enjoying this quieter time at Hidden Valley. A mother duck decided to build a nest and patiently sit on 11 eggs right outside one of the doors to the refectory. Shown nesting and then exploring after hatching:
Land Management: Hidden Valley is blessed with 12 acres of farmland that was extensively used in past decades for vegetables and herbs. A program of cover crop rotation was started in 2018. Experiments with pea, millet, clover, vetch, rye, and the native wildflowers, are all being observed for their effectiveness in improving the land. ... The focus of the ashram for the last 15 years has been on spiritual programs for men. Nonetheless, stewardship of this resource has become a focus of the new Land Services Department at Hidden Valley.
Some flowers for you!
We recently hosted 5 guests from Croatia. One wrote: thank you for all your overall support during our stay at Hidden Valley Ashram. There is so much to be experienced there, living a full true life surrounded by devotees in the atmosphere of God's friendship. And we were there so briefly. But the short time spent there also meant an incredible much to us in our further life. It simply enriched our lives. But the heart and soul pull the devotee back, so we will have to find a way to return to the "spiritual paradise on Earth" again. Thank you my/our friend. In Divine friendship,
